Ortom cuts short vacation over Benue killings

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has cut short his vacation to return home and address the security challenges occasioned by the ongoing killings of people in the state by alleged armed herders.

This is contained in a statement made available to Daily Trust in Makurdi by the governor's Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase on Tuesday.

The statement, also noted that in the governor's absence, the Acting Governor, Engineer Benson Abounu has done a commendable job.

Ortom had travelled for two weeks vacation to China since April 12 and was expected to return to the state on April 27.
